Pfizer Healthcare Ireland
The PRINCE study and Pfizer commenced a collaborative relationship in April 2009, with Pfizer supporting the PRINCE study through a non-conditional educational grant. This was fully negotiated via the Technology Transfer Office at NUI Galway, who provided support and guidance re collaborating with Pfizer.
Pfizer supported PRINCE by:
- Providing a Respiratory Nurse for spirometry testing
- Loaning two spirometry machines to the research team
- Typesetting and printing programme materials
- Providing spirometery training to a member of the research team
- Supporting General Practice recruitment
- Pledging further support to disseminate the outcomes
from the PRINCE Study
At the mid-term project review by the HRB, the review panel commented:
“A non-conditional educational grant from Pfizer has added welcome resources to the programme.”
